On Aug 10, 2008, Dr. Yang, Jin Zhou, Matt Steel, Steve Dominick and Miao Liao attended Procams 08 in Los Angeles. Matt gave a talk on his paper: "Reducing Resolution Loss in Two-Pass Rendering by Optimal View Directions and Display-Surface Partitioning" and Jin gave a talk on her paper: "Multi-Projector Display with Continuous Self-Calibration". Steve did a demo called "Anywhere Pixel Router". Jin won the Best Paper award of this conference. Congratulations.
Dr. Yang and Qing Zhang went to Microsoft Research on May 26, 2008. They will stay there for a month and work on a cooperative project.

On May 14, 2008, UK graduate, Dr. Michael Brown from National University of Singapore gave a talk about an interesting way to build 3D models interactively, at conference room of center fro visualization and virtual environment.

On May 12, 2008, Ph.D. student Liang Wang went to Adobe to do an 3 month internship. He will work with Dr. Haining Zhu on a project related to stereo vision.

In May 2008, we received a Matching fund from the state of Kentucky for our NSF STTR project.

Jiejie Zhu got a baby boy on April 15, 2008, at 11:00pm. They name him Hanzhi Zhu.
